Detroit Southwest

This is the largest neighborhood in Detroit, and is very distinctive in that there is a large Spanish speaking population here. Mexicantown-Southwest Detroit is a down-to-earth neighborhood filled with informal restaurants offering traditional Mexican food, from tamales to tacos. Laid-back bars and tiki lounges serve margaritas; grocery stores brim with corn and plantains; and old-school bakeries sell sugary churros. Family-oriented Clark Park is a popular spot for baseball, while cultural center El Museo del Norte showcases Latino art.
